A Little Morpheus History
My journey with Morpheus started almost 4 years ago in 2008, literally with a piece of bent metal, a pair of pliers, and a wish for one, high-quality piece of jewelry that I could throw on and have magically match any outfit I owned. Imagine the time, I thought, that could be saved, and the fun it would be, to have one ring that you could wear every day, and yet never tire of seeing. From this idea, Morpheus was born, as was it's first slogan: "Finally. A fabulous ring--that you're not stuck with!"
I surveyed a small focus group at the university where I worked, and the ladies there overwhelmingly loved the idea. So over the course of a year, I developed a prototype, and, long story short, kept improving and improving, selling the ring along the way and listening to my customers' feedback, until arriving at the ring's current configuration: the right ring shank, a hole of so many hundreds of an inch, the precise magnet of so many millimeters, a bezel wall of the exact height, a wand of sufficient length and determined hardness--all off these are details which have undergone numerous revisions. We are, at last, extremely well-satisfied with the ring's "anatomy", and our customers seem to be as well!
Of course, any artisan will tell you, Research and Development is not necessarily a picnic all the time. The road to completion has been long, and there is no calculating the time, money, resources, frustration, failures, and revisions that I have spent in exhaustive pursuit of this genuinely hand-crafted item that, we on my staff feel, has absolutely no equal in the marketplace: you cannot go to Dillard's and find Morpheus. Period. Nor do other interchangeable rings offer the super-cool technology and packaging and extensive art bead selection that my studio offers for this one, top-quality piece of jewelry. In these regards, we feel that Morpheus, the Greek god of Dreams, has achieved the zenith of performance that we had hoped for her to see . This said, I thank you for respecting my rights to her design. Morpheus is legally copyrighted, and heavily patented, and I will defend my ownership of her overall concept and styling.
Okay, So What's the Kit?
The Morpheus© Ring Kit includes a sterling silver Morpheus© ring in your size (5 - 10, whole and half sizes); the Morpheus© Magic Wand; and your choice of two Tier 2 starter beads (Tier 1 beads are the la-la "fancy beads" that can be purchased separately. Tier 2 beads can also be purchased separately). When ordering your Ring Kit, remember to include the name of the twp Tier 2 beads that you're ordering. Your Kit will come luciously packaged in my trademarked packaging, ready for gift-giving!
 
Pictures here show the patented Morpheus© Ring and Morpheus© Magic Wand system. Using the "Magic Wand" included in your ring kit, you quickly and easily "poke" the bead out and swap it for another! Both the Morpheus Ring and Wand are hand-crafted from sterling silver, and the head of the wand is also one of my glass beads (of course!).
So What are the Glass Beads Like? Will they hold up?
Both the bead on your Magic Wand and every bead in my collection has been hand-fired by me here in my Poplarville glass studio. All beads have been annealed (hardened) in a digital kiln for lasting strength and beauty.
However, the beads are still glass! They are not suited for rough treatment. Activites such as rotating laundry, hauling in groceries, picking up toddlers, and being generally unobservant of your hands and what they're doing can result in damage to your stones or stones that go flying. And while I stand solidly behind the integrity of your new bead kit and will work to make right whatever issues arise, obviously the artist cannot be responsible for damage or stones that fall out due to excessive treatment. A little kindness is all we're talking about here: wear your art beads as you would your better jewelry and they will literaly last you for a lifetime.
Because slight TLC is needed when enjoying any art jewelry, we think the interchangeable ring kits are a wonderful way to say, introduce a young lady to caring for her first piece of fine jewelry! We've sold literally dozens of ring kits for Sweet Sixteens, high school graduations, college graduations, Easter presents, birthdays of teens and tweens, and so on. The beads are colorful, fun, a little crazy, a little blingy, a little funky, and always noticed by others, so they make wonderful gifts for young ladies who love fashion!
